Heads up!

The information on this page is general and may differ by region. For specific details relevant to your region, please switch to the appropriate language version using the menu above.

Small and medium sized civil society organisations can apply for funding. During this process we don’t just support you with financial means, but also with training and building your network.

Follow these steps to apply

Before starting your application, please read the guidelines. They provide essential information to help you prepare a successful application.

Tip: Use our Toolkit to enhance your proposal! It includes lessons on effective actions and impactful communication activities.

After clicking on the button ‘apply’ you have to create an account for your organisation on our application platform.  With this account, you can save your progress, and continue working on it at a later stage.

During registration, select your language and the Connect for Global Change region you belong to. Ensure you choose the correct language and region, as this will determine the application form that you will have to fill out.

Great, now you have your own account and you can start your application! First we have to check whether your organisation is eligible for a grant from Connect for Global Change.

Eligibility criteria apply to both your organisation and your co-applicants, if any.  Find these criteria in the guidelines on page 8 under ‘Lead applicants and co-applicants must’.

If you don’t pass the eligibility check, you cannot apply. We will also verify the eligibility of your organisation (and your co-applicants) based on the organisational information provided in your application.

In the application form, you will now be asked to describe your idea and the impact you intend to make. Together with this description, you will need to submit a budget form which sets out the costs of your proposed activities. Please consult the instructions in the budget form for guidance.

Finally, we would like you to consider our administrative and financial requirements when writing your application. By doing so, you make sure that your idea is feasible.

Once you’ve completed the form, submit your application. If you’re not ready to submit, you can save your progress and return later.

After the deadline, we will assess your application through a three-step process:

  1. Eligibility check: The Connect for Global Change staff will check the eligibility for a grant from you and your co-applicant.
  2. Evaluation: If your application is eligible, it will be evaluated by an independent assessment consultant based on an evaluation matrix derived from the guidelines’ assessment criteria.
  3. Final selection: A final selection of applications will be based on the scoring by assessment consultants, budget constraints, and the representation of relevant themes, which may vary by country.

Do you have any questions on the application procedure? Feel free to get in touch with the coordinator of Connect for Global Change in the country where you’re applying.
