Global challenges are complex issues that go beyond national borders: they affect the whole world, not just one country. These problems can be related to politics, society, the economy, the environment, or technology. Think about climate change and migration – both are examples of global challenges.

Global challenges matter everywhere and affect both our present and the future. They cannot be solved by one country, one sector or one organisation. We need to work together – countries, different types of organisations, and citizens – to tackle these challenges.

We should look for local solutions to help solve these global challenges, that’s why we say: Connect for Global Change!

The engagement pyramid is a tool suggested by the EU DEAR programme and used within the Connect for Global Change programme.

The pyramid provides a method to categorise the level of the engagement of your audience. It ranges from simply consuming the information (Level 0) to creating and implementing new ideas at the top level (6).
